Forget old acquaintances? No chance pal...When, exactly, is it too late to say ‘Happy New Year’? It’s a simple question and one that arose when certain members of the MUM staff started getting increasingly irritated by people popping into the office to wish us precisely that. Anyway, we surveyed the MUM team and a quick exit poll on the way out to lunch today revealed the following results;
We asked:
When is it no longer appropriate to wish someone 'Happy New year'? 54% said by the end of the first week in January
38% said by the middle of January
12% said by the end of January
Of course, it also revealed that the pollsters, i.e. us, can’t add up.
